Neev Teacher’s Education Network

Neev’s Teachers Education Network is a steward of the legacy and commitment of the Neev Early Years and Neev Academy to nurture its students to be self-directed learners, highly capable disciplinary thinkers, contributing collaborators, and responsible community builders. We understand such learning is best done contextually with experiences, questions, and application, while layering disciplinary knowledge to make sense of the world with an approach that as children grow, their learning context evolves from the concrete to abstract. Finally, our goal is a well-adapted child ready to deal with their world in a happy, healthy, and impactful way.

Guiding our work at Neev’s Teacher Education Network is a belief that such student learning is achievable only when teaching and learning in the school respond to the evolving dynamics of local and global communities, encompassing the changing motivations of learners and the constantly evolving modalities of learning. It is imperative, therefore, that we prepare our teachers to be the leaders of learning, who can proactively address the changing needs and demands of our learners and learning.

Neev’s Teacher Residency Program

The Neev’s Teacher Residency Program is designed, offered, & assessed by Neev’s Teacher Education Network and accredited by Aligarh Muslim University. The program addresses the critical gaps in contemporary teacher education programs like B. Ed, D. El. Ed, NTT, etc., that predominantly focus on theoretical aspects, leaving educators inadequately prepared for the challenges of the classroom. This program emerges as a timely and essential intervention by offering a transformative and practice-oriented approach to pre-service teacher preparation.

At the core of this program is a thoughtfully crafted curriculum and learning experiences to ensure teachers are “classroom ready”. The program provides opportunities to learn and practice within a school environment, by incorporating elements such as school immersion, coaching, mentorship, reflective classroom practices, and peer collaboration. We believe this not only equips teachers with the skills and practices of teaching but also nurtures a community of educators dedicated to continuous learning and development. Neev’s Teacher Residency Program enables individuals to:

Reflect on their personal beliefs about learning and its implications for teaching practices
Design and implement the lessons focused on student learning experiences
Evaluate and assess the effectiveness of implemented learning programs, using self-reflection, and utilizing feedback to enhance instructional strategies.
Develop assessments to support impactful student learning and enhance teaching practices
Actively engage in collaborative learning sessions with colleagues, contributing to a culture of mutual growth and collective professional development.

Meet Our Team

Pavan

With over a decade of diverse experience in education, Pavan Kumar A has made significant contributions to policy impact and teacher professional development. He has actively contributed to the development of NEP 2020 - School Education domain and has led the design and implementaion of numerous teacher professional development programs across various states in India. As the Associate Director at Neev’s Teacher Education Network, Pavan leads design, implementation and evaluation of progressive teacher preparation and development programs. 

Pavan's academic qualifications include a Master's in Electronics Science, Certifications in behavior design and Google Educator Level 1. He has also designed skill development programs for rural entrepreneurs and youth employability, and developed a chatbot for WhatsApp commerce in the agri-sector. Pavan’s expertise is recognized through his memberships in professional associations such as the Cambridge Assessment Network, Life membership of Indian Sciecne Congress and IEEE. 

Outside his professional achievements, Pavan is committed to lifelong learning and innovation in education, demonstrating a blend of academic excellence and practical impact. He is currently exploring the nuances of AI & Data Science and its implicaitons to educational practices by actively engaging in professional leanring communities around the world.

Supriya

Bringing with her an impressive 18 years of teaching experience, Supriya most recently served as a Literacy Coach and HOD English-Primary at Inventure Academy, Bangalore. Her extensive roles included leading the Professional Development team and serving as a mentor at Azim Premji University.

Supriya holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Stella Maris Colleges, along with a Master of Science in Psychology and Bachelor of Education. Her certifications encompass The International Baccalaureate (IB) framework and TCWRP literacy coaching, among others.

Beyond her academic prowess, Supriya is a trained Classical Bharatanatyam Dancer, honoured with a central government scholarship, showcasing her dedication to both the arts and education.
